January 11 Guest Preacher


On Sunday, January 11 th St. Catherine’s will have a guest preacher, The Rev. Dr.

Heiwa No Bushi who is a Buddhist-Christian monk. He has advanced degrees in

philosophy and systematic theology. He also received training in both Mahayana

and Daishin Zen Buddhism. He places his teachings under the moniker of

“BodhiChristo,” which means “enlightened Christ,” an amalgamation of the two

rich streams of Buddhism and Christianity. Please join us for this unique and

spiritual event.


About The Rev. Dr. Neiwa No Bushi


"Heiwa no Bushi" (meaning "Peaceful Samurai") is the title held by Bushi Yamato Damashii, an independent Buddhist-Christian monk and founder of the interfaith community Sangha Bodhi Christo (SBC). 



Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, Heiwa no Bushi is a former Christian minister who served in various denominations before becoming a Buddhist monk for 15 years, training in Mahayana and Daishin Zen Buddhism. He holds advanced degrees in philosophy and systematic theology.


He integrated his Christian and Buddhist experiences to create the "BodhiChristo" philosophy and founded Sangha Bodhi Christo (SBC).  His teachings are independent of specific lineages, focusing on the shared "Golden Rule" and the practical application of interreligious practices.
